Migration guide

Migrating from Sleuth to Koalr

Everything Sleuth does — DORA dashboards, deploy tracking, Slack alerts — plus deployment risk prediction, AI-powered analysis, and test coverage. Up and running in under 30 minutes.

What You Get Instead

Every Sleuth feature, mapped to its Koalr equivalent — and what you gain.

Deploy trackingDORA metrics + deployment risk scoring

Same webhook-based deploy tracking. Adds a 0–100 risk score on every PR before it ships, with the top contributing signals explained.

DORA dashboardsSame dashboards, plus risk trend

Deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, and MTTR — identical to what you have today. Plus a deployment risk trend that predicts failures before they happen.

Slack alertsSame Slack integration, plus AI insights

Deploy notifications and incident alerts via Slack. Adds weekly AI-generated team summaries and natural language answers to ad-hoc questions.

Team metricsAll metrics, plus AI chat

PR throughput, review time, cycle time — all present. Ask Koalr in plain English: "Which service had the highest change failure rate last month?" and get an instant answer.

Common Migration Questions

Do I lose historical data when I switch?

No. Koalr backfills 90 days of GitHub PR and deploy history automatically on connect. Your DORA trends will be populated from day one.

Can I run both in parallel during migration?

Yes — Koalr's deploy webhook is additive. You can send deploy events to both Sleuth and Koalr simultaneously until you're confident in the transition.

Does Koalr support the same deploy webhook payload format?

Koalr accepts GitHub deployment events natively and also accepts custom webhook payloads in both Sleuth-compatible and Koalr-native formats. Our team can help configure this on the migration call.

How quickly will I see the risk scores?

Risk scores appear on the next PR opened after you connect GitHub. The model begins with general weights and improves as it learns your team's specific deployment history.
