Bitbucket analytics

Bitbucket is your repo host. Koalr is your analytics layer.

Atlassian removed Bitbucket Insights. Koalr gives you the data you lost — and then some.

DORA metrics, PR cycle time, deploy risk scoring, and team benchmarks, all connected to your Bitbucket Cloud repos and pipelines. No spreadsheets. No manual tracking. No gaps in coverage.

Everything Bitbucket Insights tracked — and everything it never did

Bitbucket Insights gave you basic PR throughput and review time averages. Koalr gives you the full engineering intelligence picture your team needs to ship faster with fewer incidents.

DORA metrics

Deploy frequency, lead time for changes, change failure rate, and MTTR — all calculated from your Bitbucket Cloud repos and pipelines. Updated daily, trended over 90 days.

PR cycle time

Time from first commit to merge, broken down by stage: time in draft, time awaiting review, review duration, and time from approval to merge. Per-engineer and per-team views.

Deploy risk scoring

Every PR gets a 0–100 risk score based on 32 research-validated signals: change entropy, author file expertise, DDL migrations, blast radius, and more. Posted as a Bitbucket build status check.

Team benchmarks

See how your team compares against DORA elite, high, medium, and low performer thresholds. Per-team and per-engineer breakdowns help you identify where to focus improvement efforts.

What you lost vs. what you get

When Atlassian quietly removed the Insights tab from Bitbucket Cloud, engineering teams lost their only native view into PR velocity. Here is what the two tools offered.

Three steps from signup to your first Bitbucket analytics dashboard. No professional services. No implementation project.

1
Connect Bitbucket5 minutes

Authorize the Koalr OAuth app in your Bitbucket Cloud workspace settings. Koalr gets read access to repositories, pull requests, and pipeline runs. No write access required.

2
Map your teams10 minutes

Tell Koalr which Bitbucket workspace members belong to which teams. You can sync from your Jira project configuration or set it up manually in the Koalr team editor.

3
Review your first dashboardAutomatic

Koalr backfills 90 days of PR and pipeline history. Your DORA metrics, PR cycle time breakdown, and team benchmarks are ready on your first login — no configuration required.

Why Bitbucket teams need more than native tooling

Pipeline data alone is not enough

Bitbucket Pipelines shows you build pass/fail. It doesn't tell you your deploy frequency as a DORA metric, your lead time from first commit to production, or whether your change failure rate is trending up. You need a layer that interprets pipeline events in the context of your delivery process.

PR data without context is noise

Knowing your average PR review time is 4 hours is a number. Knowing that 20% of PRs wait more than 24 hours for first review, concentrated on two engineers, is an actionable insight. Koalr gives you the second kind of data.

Risk is invisible without scoring

Your pipeline doesn't know that a 900-line PR touching 47 files in the payments service, authored by a developer who has never modified that module before, is high risk. Koalr's deploy risk scoring does — before the PR merges.

Atlassian is not building this for you

Atlassian removed Bitbucket Insights without replacement. Their analytics investment is in Jira and Confluence, not in Bitbucket engineering metrics. If your team uses Bitbucket for repos, you need a purpose-built analytics tool.
